I could not find a group in my area that both knits and contributes to the community so I decided to form one myself. There are many great organizations out there that will take donated knitted items. Some that I would like to contribute to are Knit a Square (sewn together into blankets and sent to AIDS orphans in Africa), Afghans for Afghans, Project Linus (blankets for ill children).
